Police catch multiple shoplifters in Flachgau

Officers were able to arrest a Moroccan and an Italian in Straßwalchen. The thieving duo had targeted drugstores and supermarkets several times.

Since February 20, there have been several shopliftings in drugstores and a grocery store in Flachgau and neighboring Upper Austria. On the afternoon of February 28, a 31-year-old Moroccan national was arrested in Straßwalchen as a suspect in a theft from a drugstore. During questioning, the Moroccan confessed to the charges.

A 21-year-old Italian was also arrested by police officers on the evening of March 1st in connection with a theft at a drugstore in Straßwalchen. He also confessed during questioning.

The two arrested men committed at least nine shopliftings together. The total loss currently stands at eleven thousand euros.

The suspects resold the stolen items. Both men were taken to Salzburg prison.
