Police officer seriously injured – man (34) in custody

A 34-year-old Austrian man seriously injured a police officer with a punch to the face on Thursday morning in Hüttau im Pongau. The officer (42) had to leave his duty. The perpetrator then also attacked a policewoman.

The 34-year-old man punched the 42-year-old police officer in the face with his fist during the attempted resistance against the authorities. The officer suffered injuries of indeterminate severity and had to leave his duty.

The man should have been brought before the court. However, he refused to leave his apartment even after the punch, and even thundered the apartment door against a policewoman. She remained unharmed.

The violent man was finally arrested in the apartment and taken to prison. Charges were also brought for the discovery of narcotics paraphernalia in accordance with the Narcotics Act.
