Contract extended
“Very happy”: veteran remains with Bayern
Eric Dier's contract with Bayern has apparently been automatically extended. The defender was loaned out from Tottenham for six months in the winter. The loan contract included a clause that should now give him at least another year at Bayern. Munich are happy.
Dier has fulfilled the contractual obligations to automatically extend his contract with the German record champions by one year. As the newspaper "Bild" reports, a clause applies after a certain number of games that extends the Englishman's contract by a further year.
The 30-year-old has already played six games for Bayern. He also played the full distance in the top matches against Leverkusen and Leipzig. While there were initially doubts about the fitness and qualities of Kane's buddy, he has since proved to be a stroke of luck.
Up to three million euros
The defensive specialist has shown himself to be strong in tackles and headers. He has not made any mistakes so far. He has also repeatedly provided important impetus in Bayern's attacking play. In the difficult games, he has also tried to organize and motivate his teammates.
"He's been doing really well since he joined us. A super personality. He radiates a lot of routine, talks a lot and is simply good for the team. We're very happy with him," said sporting director Christoph Freund. The extension is likely to cost Bayern between two and three million euros. A sum that Munich are happy to pay.
