Play-off pick: KAC in quarter-final against Pioneers

The KAC has chosen the Pioneers Vorarlberg as its opponent for the quarter-finals of the ICE Ice Hockey League. After their best basic round in 23 years, Klagenfurt had the first choice in Thursday's "pick" and opted for the Pioneers, who had prevailed in two games against HC Innsbruck in the pre-play-off.

Defending champions Red Bull Salzburg will face Black Wings Linz, while VSV will take on South Tyrol.

Second-placed Fehervar opted for HC Pustertal, who were the last club to advance to the quarter-finals with a 4-3 win over Olimpija Ljubljana in the pre-play-off on Thursday.

Before that, the Black Wings Linz announced that the coaching team with head coach Philipp Lukas and his assistants Mark Szücs and Jürgen Penker had been extended for three years.
