Tyrol's emergency services were put to the test on Thursday. Helicopters had to be deployed three times to the Stubai Glacier. In Sölden in the Ötztal valley, the lift access worked differently than planned. And in Pill (Schwaz district), a ski tour ended with a fall into a depression.

In the Stubai Glacier ski area, the emergency services were called out three times. At around 10 a.m., a German woman (36) was snowboarding on the blue "Fernauferner" piste. "In the lower third of the piste, she fell on her own and seriously injured her shoulder," according to the police. The "Alpin 2" emergency helicopter took her to Hall hospital.

Ski tourer fell into a depression
The fifth accident finally occurred at around 1.40 pm. From Pill, a Tyrolean (63) was on a ski tour with his wife in the direction of "Sonntagsköpfl". The accident occurred on the descent from the summit in the direction of "Loassattel". "At an altitude of 1700 meters above sea level, the man overlooked the Marschentalbach stream and fell into a depression." The 63-year-old suffered a serious injury to his lower leg. The ski tourer was rescued by the emergency helicopter "Martin 7" and flown to Schwaz hospital.
