Municipal councillor voluntarily waives her salary

The politician wants to set a good example in view of Winden am See's financial difficulties. The money will go to the kindergarten, among other things

As reported, the financial situation of Winden am See is not exactly rosy. Some time ago, the ÖVP therefore proposed to the municipal council that politicians should give up half of their salaries in order to set a good example and improve the municipality's financial situation a little. The idea was referred to the consolidation committee and discussed there, but since then the issue has remained quiet.

Money for kindergarten
However, ÖVP municipal councillor Lisa Reuter did not want to wait any longer until a decision could be reached on the matter. She has decided to waive her salary completely for the time being. In February, the money was spent on heating the kindergarten. Now, in March, it will be used to finance the planting in Franz-Liszt-Gasse.

Making a contribution
The plan is for her to forgo her income for the first half of the year to show what would be possible if everyone made a contribution. "In total, this could save us almost 100,000 euros a year," says the ÖVP leader.
