Own friend allegedly tortured cat to death

When a 30-year-old woman from Linz came home from work on Wednesday, she found one of her two cats seriously injured, and a short time later the cat died. The Linz woman's boyfriend is suspected of having tortured the animal to death. He denies the accusation.

What a shock: one of her two cats showed several injuries when a 30-year-old woman from Linz came home from work on Wednesday afternoon. According to the police, only one other person was present in her apartment during her absence: her 25-year-old boyfriend.

Confronted him
So she confronted him. The German stated that the cat had hit the door frame, but that he himself had not kicked it. A few hours later - the two had argued - the 25-year-old left the apartment.

The Linz woman grabbed her cat and drove to the vet. However, there was nothing more he could do for the poor cat: The animal died from its internal injuries. The veterinary surgeon was able to rule out an accident due to the nature of the injuries, and it was assumed that the cat had been mistreated.

The 25-year-old will be charged with suspicion of cruelty to animals - and possession of drugs, which investigators found in the apartment.
