For eight years
Women “delivered” to order for sex work
A Bulgarian man delivered women to order - to brothels! His years of illegal activity were uncovered in the Innviertel region and the 48-year-old was charged. However, as his victims allegedly always knew what they were getting into, he was given an "acceptable" sentence.
The 48-year-old had contacts mainly in the red-light district in Germany and received his orders there. In his old home country of Bulgaria, he recruited the ladies, organized the bus trips and brought the prospective prostitutes to the pimps. He was caught in the Innviertel region after running his business for eight years.
Number of victims unknown
It remained unclear how many women the accused had brought into the milieu over the years, only a "large number" was mentioned when the 48-year-old was brought before the judge in Ried for "transnational prostitution trade". The penalty range for this crime is six months to five years in prison. The defendant immediately accepted the sentence of ten months' conditional imprisonment, and the public prosecutor's office also waived its right to appeal, meaning that the verdict is legally binding. The "broker" does not have to go to prison.
