Because she was probably driving too fast, a 33-year-old woman with two passengers in her car lost control of her car on Monday evening in Rettenschöss in Tyrol (Kufstein district), took off and flew (!) over a stream. The three people were injured, some of them seriously, and a 22-year-old is in a critical condition in intensive care.

Shortly after 10 p.m., the 33-year-old Romanian woman was driving her car on the B172 in the municipality of Rettenschöss in the direction of Walchsee. A 34-year-old rural woman was sitting in the front passenger seat and a 22-year-old Czech was in the back seat. "In a right-hand bend in the area where there is a 60 km/h speed limit, the driver left the road, presumably due to excessive speed. Due to the high speed, the car lifted off the embankment, flew over a stream, collided head-on with the opposite stream bed and was thrown onto the verge or the road," the police said.

Passenger in critical condition
The 33-year-old female driver was taken to the shock room at Rosenheim Hospital. "She suffered serious injuries to her ribs and pelvis in the accident," said the investigators. The 34-year-old passenger escaped with severe bruising and was taken to the district hospital in Kufstein. After first aid, the 22-year-old had to be taken to the hospital in Innsbruck by emergency helicopter. "He is in a critical condition and is receiving intensive medical care," emphasized the police.

Search for a possible fourth person
As the police initially assumed that there was another, supposed fourth person in the car, the nearby area was searched by firefighters, the service dog from the police dog unit and a drone flight with a thermal imaging camera. "In the end, however, it was confirmed that there were only three people in the car," said the officers.
