Thailand: Slain DJ from Upper Austria, friend arrested
After a DJ from Austria was killed two days ago on the Thai party island of Koh Phangan, the identity of the murdered man is now known. He is a 42-year-old man from the Linz area. The suspect is a friend of the musician, who is said to have struck him with a metal object after an argument.
The 42-year-old Max H. had been living in Thailand for around seven years and had worked there as a DJ. According to reports from Thailand, he was found dead two days ago on a street near his house.
Friend suspected of the crime
The body showed serious injuries to the head and face. According to local media, a friend of the DJ, a 37-year-old Moroccan, has already confessed to beating him to death with a steel object after an argument.
According to the murdered man's sister, the two had previously celebrated a party with around eight other people. The suspect has already partially confessed.
Grief is great
While the investigation at the scene is still ongoing, relatives, friends and former colleagues are mourning the 42-year-old on social media.
