Dispute before bloody deed
DJ from Austria murdered in Thailand
A 42-year-old Austrian who has been working as a DJ in Thailand for years has become the victim of a bloody deed. His body was found on Thursday on the island of Ko Pha-ngan next to a narrow road not far from his accommodation. A 37-year-old suspect confessed to the police that he had beaten the Austrian to death.
According to the newspaper "The Nation", an argument is said to have broken out between the two men on the sidelines of a party at the dead man's house. This is what several eyewitnesses told the police.
Fight at party escalated on the street
The suspect, a Moroccan citizen, is said to have confirmed this version. Police Colonel Sirichai Suksart, deputy chief of Surat Thani police, told "The Nation" that the 37-year-old wanted to leave the party, but the host did not allow him to do so. "That's when the fight started," said Thani.
This then continued outside the house. A scuffle then ensued, during which the two opponents injured each other. At some point, the Moroccan grabbed a metal object and hit the Austrian several times - until he stopped moving.
