Accident victim rescued from forest by helicopter

A skier (64) from Klagenfurt fell off-piste in the Heiligenblut ski area. The crew of the "C7" rescue helicopter rushed to help.

A 64-year-old man from Klagenfurt had a serious accident in the Heiligenblut ski area at around 1 pm on Saturday. During his descent on the Mulden slope, he lost control for reasons that are still unclear, left the piste and fell around six meters into a wooded area.

Rescued with a rope
The rescue operation required the deployment of a C7 rescue helicopter, which used a rope to free the injured man from his predicament. After the successful rescue, he was immediately flown to Klagenfurt Hospital. It is still unclear how seriously the man was injured in the accident.
