Teacher died in fall in school stairwell
Dramatic incident at a school in Leoben (Styria): A 54-year-old teacher fell three storeys in a stairwell and died. Although there are no concrete indications that the accident was caused by someone else, the incident leaves unanswered questions. The criminal investigation department is investigating.
The death of a teacher in a school in Leoben in Upper Styria is causing consternation. According to police reports on Thursday, the 54-year-old is believed to have fallen from the second floor stairwell into the basement at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Teacher succumbed to his injuries
Colleagues immediately provided first aid and a rescue team including an emergency doctor were even able to stabilize the seriously injured man at the scene of the accident. Shortly afterwards, the teacher succumbed to his serious injuries.
Autopsy revealed no abnormalities
As the circumstances of the incident could not be clearly clarified, the Leoben criminal investigation department took over the investigation and the body was autopsied. The autopsy revealed multiple injuries caused by a fall from a great height; no health impairment at the time of the fall could be ascertained.
According to the police, there are no concrete clues, but the possibility of third-party negligence cannot be completely ruled out. Witnesses are now being investigated and questioned.
