Dead girl (16) found in Vienna died of an overdose
A 16-year-old girl was found dead in an apartment in Vienna's 17th district on Monday. It has now been revealed that the young woman had consumed drugs before her death and probably died of an overdose.
On January 29, the teenager and the 44-year-old man who owned the apartment where the girl was finally found met around the Gumpendorfer Straße subway station.
The area is known to be frequented by people with drug addictions. Both the 16-year-old and the 44-year-old are said to have been involved in the drug scene.
The teenager was apparently previously housed in a youth facility, and according to the police, there was also a missing person's report. In any case, the 16-year-old was looking for a place to sleep, which the 44-year-old gave her.
Theman alerted the emergency services
In his apartment in Hernals, the teenager is said to have taken two more pills and gone to sleep. The next morning, the Viennese man noticed that she was no longer breathing and alerted the emergency services, who were only able to determine that she had died. There are no signs of any external culpability or sexual abuse.
