Head-on accident
Car shot down rescue vehicle: Three occupants injured
Three people were injured in a head-on collision between an ambulance and a pick-up. The ambulance was apparently "shot down" by the car. The initial report of the accident sounded bad, fortunately the injuries do not appear to be too serious.
The accident happened on Thursday afternoon on the Voralpenstraße between Bad Hall and Rohr im Kremstal in the village of Hehenberg. A car, a pick-up to be precise, had apparently crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with the oncoming ambulance.
No patient on board
The ambulance had been traveling without patients, but two paramedics and the driver of the pick-up were injured. Initially, the emergency services had assumed that there were people trapped, but to everyone's relief it turned out at the scene of the accident that the three injured people had only suffered minor injuries and had already got out of the vehicles. As a precaution, they were all taken to Wels Hospital for a check-up.
Closed for an hour
The B122 Voralpenstraße was closed between Bad Hall and Rohr im Kremstal for about an hour. The fire department set up a large-scale detour.
