Manchester City stumbled and couldn't get past Brighton Hove & Albion in a 2-2 draw. Erling Haaland set another record. The Norwegian striker managed to be involved in 100 Premier League goals in less than 100 games.

In the home game against Brighton & Hove Albion, Haaland scored from the penalty spot in the 11th minute to give City a 1-0 lead. The penalty was his 100th goal in the Premier League - and that in 94 games! Haaland is now the fastest player in PL history to reach 100 direct goals (84 goals, 16 assists).

Haaland replaces England striker legend Alan Shearer, the previous record holder. Shearer once needed 100 games to score 100 goals directly in the Premier League. Other legends such as Eric Cantona, Mohamed Salah (116 games each) and Sergio Agüero (118 games) follow in the corresponding ranking.

City dominance? Not a chance!
Apart from Haaland's new record, Brighton often posed problems for the English champions. There was little sign of City dominance. Brighton equalized through Pervis Estupinan in the 21st minute before Omar Marmoush made it 2-1 before the break. After the restart, it was City's million new signing Abdukodir Khusanov from Uzbekistan who unluckily scored into his own goal to bring Brighton back into the game. Coach Fabian Hürzeler's side had another top chance in the closing stages through Carlos Baleba, who failed to hit the empty net from five meters and fired the ball well over the goal. In the end, City once again dropped important points in the battle for the Champions League places.
