Dreier secures World Championship medal

Although the world championship title she was aiming for came to nothing, ski mountaineer Sarah Dreier was still able to celebrate a medal in the vertical competition at the World Championships in Morgins, Switzerland. The Pinzgau native took third place.

The Frenchwoman Gachet took victory with a time of 22:24. 41 seconds behind her, the Swede Alexandersson finished in second place. Dreier crossed the finish line 1:36 behind and thus secured the bronze medal.

Although the 29-year-old had set victory as her goal, she can be very satisfied with third place. Due to illness, her preparation for the major event was not optimal.
