Payment with stolen card convicts thief

On Sunday night, a 19-year-old man's cell phone and ATM card were stolen in Mittersill. The thief, a 45-year-old Romanian, paid three times with the card at a petrol station shortly afterwards. This put the police on the trail.

A short time later, the police knocked on the Romanian's apartment. During the search, both the cell phone and the ATM card were seized in the apartment.

The man will be reported to the Salzburg public prosecutor's office for theft and misappropriation of non-cash means of payment.
