ÖSV youngster grabs his second medal

The next Austrian medal at the Alpine Junior World Championships in Tarvisio (Italy). After Leonie Zegg from Vorarlberg had already snatched super-G silver in the morning, Matthias Fernsebner skied to bronze at midday - as he had already done in the downhill on Thursday.

Gold went to Germany, as in the downhill - where Felix Rösle won. Just 18-year-old Benno Brandis skied to victory with number 23, catching Switzerland's Sandro Manser, who had fallen out of the medal places in the downhill after an intermediate lead.

In third place: Matthias Fernsebner. The 19-year-old from Salzburg was just 0.20 seconds behind gold at the finish, but was delighted to take bronze, as he had done in the downhill. Bitter: Tyrolean Matteo Haas was half a second ahead on his way to gold - before he dropped out.

For Fernsebner, however, there could even be a third medal on Saturday. He is in an excellent starting position in the team combined with his Salzburg compatriot Florian Neumayer, who will be competing in the slalom.
