No witnesses? Burglary on the biggest shopping street

On Wednesday morning, a violent break-in occurred in the middle of Vienna's largest shopping street, Mariahilfer Straße. A mobile shop owner contacted the "Krone" to warn other store owners and to look for possible witnesses. The perpetrators are still on the run.

At the start of work on Wednesday morning, owner E. made a frightening discovery: "The perpetrators forced their way into our store and caused considerable damage," the owner told krone.at, describing the break-in to his store.

No witnesses despite the noise
Vienna police officers were immediately called to the scene of the crime on Mariahilfer Strasse, but the perpetrators have not yet been found. It is unusual that nobody claims to have noticed anything on the busy shopping street during the day. As the photo above suggests, the forced entry must have caused considerable noise.
