Volunteers get broken items up and running again

Hard-working hands make broken items whole again. A special repair café for clothing and wooden appliances is now available in Bodensdorf, where volunteers have been found. 

The Repair Café is returning to Bodensdorf. On Tuesday, broken items will be repaired at Bahnhofstraße 6 from 2 to 6 pm. "This time the theme is textiles and wood," says Eva Schmid. "It will be a special repair café, so to speak.

People will be taking lots of broken items with them." They are repaired by experts from the "Reparatur Initiative" association: "We come back every three months. We often repair electrical appliances or sewing machines, but today it's clothes or wooden appliances," says Schmid.

Old becomes new 
"Conserving resources is one of the most important aspects of environmental protection. No matter what we buy, everything has come a long way before it ends up in a store and finally in our homes," says the Repair Café initiative. "This is precisely why it is all the more important to treat things responsibly. This also means that items are not immediately thrown away when they break." They are repaired together.
