Over and out! Ofner and Thiem part ways

"Divorce" finalized - Sebastian Ofner, Austria's number 1 in men's tennis, and Moritz Thiem, his former manager, are going their separate ways with immediate effect! 

Thiem made the news of this separation public on New Year's Day, not without pointing out that it was "on good terms" ...

"I will no longer be working with Sebastian Ofner this year, we have parted on good terms at the end of the year," said Moritz Thiem, younger brother of Dominic Thiem, who retired a few weeks ago, via WhatsApp message to the "Krone", among others.

"The time for change has come"
They have different perspectives on the future and even though their work together has been "extremely successful" and Ofner has achieved his top ranking, the time has come for a change.

"I definitely hope that he will be fit again soon and then fully attack again," said Moritz Thiem, whose father Wolfgang will remain the coach of Ofner, who is currently convalescing.

Heel problems on both legs
The 28-year-old, currently only number 88 in the world rankings, had surgery on both legs in September due to persistent heel problems and is working on his comeback. However, it remains to be seen when he will be able to return to the tour.
