Stopped truck driver was under the influence of drugs

Salzburg police stopped a truck driver in Anif on Saturday who had been taking drugs. He will be charged. Friday was already the end of the line for two drunk drivers. 

Because the 33-year-old Romanian was behaving conspicuously during the police check in Anif, he had to take a drug test. The result was clear: the truck driver had consumed cannabis and was no longer fit to drive. He had to surrender his driver's license on the spot.

Caught drunk at the wheel
On Friday evening, two drunk drivers were caught by the police in Pongau: On the Wagrainer Straße (B 163), one driver was driving far too fast in serpentine lines. The 31-year-old local was stopped. He had 1.62 per mille alcohol in his blood. 

Shortly before midnight, the same police patrol then stopped an equally conspicuous female driver on the Westautobahn. However, the drunk woman drew attention to herself because she was driving extremely slowly. A breathalyzer test revealed a level of 1.82 per mille. Charges will follow.
