Kane statue has found its place after 4 years

At last! The wait is over: four years after it was made, Harry Kane was actually allowed to unveil his statue. After his Three Lions' 5:0 gala against Ireland, the Bayern striker paid a visit to the bronze figure.

The fact that the statue has actually found its final home at a sports center in Walthamstow - the London district where Kane was born - is almost a miracle, as the statue has been through a crazy back and forth. 

Administration gets in the way
As a reminder: in 2020, the statue was made for the equivalent of 8600 euros and was actually supposed to be installed at a train station. However, the plan fell through for safety reasons and the decision was made to place the bronze Kane in a park instead. This time it was the local authorities who put paid to the idea and so the statue ended up in a warehouse for several years.

Now the turnaround that was hardly thought possible: Dusted off and freshly polished, the statue was transported to a sports center, where it now stands ready for selfies in front of a mural also dedicated to Kane. The England striker has already taken one himself and proudly posted the result on Instagram.
