Wels man ran after car with machete in hand

Extremely bizarre police operation in Wels, Upper Austria: on Saturday shortly after midnight, a patrol checked an 18-year-old driver. Suddenly the police saw that a man with a machete was following the vehicle. The two had been arguing over a cell phone.

Apparently there's nothing that doesn't exist: At half past midnight on Saturday morning, a Wels police patrol checked an 18-year-old car driver in Messestadt. A man with a machete suddenly appeared behind the car. According to the police, the man had run after the moving car with the machete in his hand.

The officers confronted the armed man - a 48-year-old man from Wels. He then put down his weapon and behaved cooperatively.

"Machete man" wanted to intimidate opponents
It turned out that a dispute over a cell phone was the trigger for the bizarre action. The 48-year-old ran after his younger opponent to intimidate him.

The "machete man" was arrested and taken to Wels prison.
