Those responsible in the city of Bregenz, led by Mayor Michael Ritsch, recently launched a comprehensive aid campaign to improve living conditions in the twin city of Yaremche. Hospital beds, therapy equipment, IT equipment and much more were collected for this purpose. 

As part of the recently agreed solidarity partnership between the provincial capital of Bregenz and the Ukrainian city of Yaremche, a delegation from Bregenz visited Ukraine in late summer 2024. As a result, a comprehensive aid campaign was launched with the aim of supporting the local hospital, kindergarten and school in Yaremche.

Sad situation
Much of the hospital equipment and technical equipment dates back to the Soviet era. The air-raid shelters of the kindergarten and school, where the girls and boys have to spend several hours a week, are inadequately insulated, and the coming winter is expected to be one of the harshest in decades.

Over the past few weeks, the heads of numerous institutions in Vorarlberg as well as private individuals have taken part in the campaign. Among the items collected were hospital beds, therapy equipment, medical supplies, IT equipment and much more. The Ukrainian managers had sent a list of requirements to Bregenz in advance.
