From unicorns to coffins – props as souvenirs

Old telephones and typewriters, boxes of books, but also pianos, a wheelchair and even a coffin changed hands at the Südbahnhotel props flea market in Neunkirchen at the weekend. The proceeds from Paulus Manker's Alma legacy will go to the #We_do! association. 

Fans of "Alma" or "The Last Days of Mankind" made a pilgrimage in large numbers to Neunkirchen at the weekend, where the props that director Paulus Manker had left behind in the legendary Südbahnhotel were last stored.

One or two bargains could be snapped up for a free donation. The proceeds from the event will go to the #we_do! association. This is a contact point for actors who are confronted with abuse of power, harassment, exploitation or discrimination.

Alma actress draws attention to grievances

Former Alma actress Anna Werner Friedmann was also on site. She had come into conflict with Paulus Manker over unpaid wages. And she knows how present sexual and psychological abuse still is on many stages today. "Of my 24 former school colleagues at drama school in Berlin, they can all tell me about assaults - especially in the theater," says Friedmann.

The problem: "But as soon as you say something, you are immediately negatively marked in people's minds and you are replaced". She herself is on the blacklist because she publicly resigned on stage during an Alma performance. But she was lucky - the native of Lower Austria is currently in front of the camera for a crime series in Bregenz
