57-year-old man hit and killed by train

A 57-year-old man was hit and killed by a train near Parndorf on Sunday evening. Investigations into the course of the accident are currently underway.

At around 8 p.m., a train driver reported that a male person had been hit by a passing train. He was probably standing next to the tracks. There was no chance of survival for the 57-year-old, a Slovakian citizen. The man died at the scene of the accident.

Police investigate
The Parndorf fire department was deployed with 27 men and five vehicles, the rescue service could do nothing more for the man. Investigations into the exact circumstances of the accident are currently underway.
