152 instead of 50 km/h

18-year-old speeding driver had to surrender his VW Polo

An 18-year-old novice driver in Upper Austria lost his driver's license and his VW Polo on Friday night. Police officers stopped the young driver after he was measured at 152 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. Other speeders also had to surrender their licenses during the night-time checks.

During the night of October 31, 2024 to November 1, 2024, the Frankenburg police carried out traffic checks in the district of Vöcklabruck. At around 2.40 a.m., a car was measured at 152 km/h instead of the permitted 50 km/h and was also stopped.

In addition to the 18-year-old driver from Attnang-Puchheim, there were three other people in the vehicle. The driver's license was taken from him on the spot and the VW Polo was temporarily confiscated.

Two drunk drivers also stopped
The patrol was also able to stop another three drivers at speeds of between 95 km/h and 104 km/h. These drivers also had their licenses confiscated. Their blood alcohol levels were 1.44 and 1.28 per mille respectively. Numerous organ mandates and reports were also issued or filed.
