Driver stopped on highway with a blood alcohol level of 2.5

On Tuesday morning, a female driver was driving drunk on the Westautobahn near Salzburg. Witnesses had observed her and raised the alarm. The driver had got behind the wheel with 2.5 per mille alcohol in her blood. 

Her driving style was conspicuous. The 68-year-old woman was clearly no longer in control of her car in broad daylight on Tuesday. Witnesses observed the dangerous driving and reported it to the police. A police patrol was able to stop the driver shortly afterwards. A breathalyzer test showed 2.5 per mille. The officers confiscated the driver's license on the spot. 

Shortly afterwards, a 31-year-old man from Salzburg was stopped in Anif, who also had problems keeping his car in lane. The man had not looked too deeply into his glass - a test showed a value of 0.42 per mille - but had consumed cannabis and cocaine. He also had to surrender his driver's license and abandon the car.
