Mini World Championships in Montafon and a World Championships test run in Mellau

Vorarlberg winter sports fans can once again look forward to some highlights in the upcoming season. Four divisions of the International Ski Federation (FIS) will be holding competitions in the region.

While the speed competitions are already underway at the Alpine World Championships (4 to 16 February) in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, two FIS slaloms are still on the program in Mellau on 7 and 8 February. It is quite possible that not only local hero Jakob Greber, but also one or two of the World Championship starters will use this opportunity to check their form one last time.

There will be four races in the Montafon. The final highlight will be the legendary Snowboardcross World Cup from 20 to 22 March, which celebrated a brilliant debut last year, including two victories for local hero "Izzi" Hämmerle on the 2027 World Cup course. European Cup points will already be up for grabs on the spectacular course on the Fredakopf on January 11 and 12.

It's also all about them on February 22 and 23, when the mogul piste tour takes place on the Golm. And the alpine boarders will be stopping off in Gargellen on March 8 and 9 with two European Cups.
