Which masked man is joining the national team?

A fashion statement or just a joke - a Liverpool FC star caused a lot of guesswork when he joined the French national team on Monday ahead of the upcoming international matches!

Ibrahima Konaté, formerly also active for RB Leipzig, emerged from a car on arrival in Clairefontaine near Paris wearing a kind of XL mask - a zippered mask/hood that completely covered the defender's face.

Mischievous grin
It was only when Konaté opened the zip, uncovered his face and looked into the cameras of the surrounding photographers with a mischievous grin that it really became clear which "mask man" had just arrived at the team camp.

He later described his appearance as "faceless" via Instagram - but the deeper meaning of the action wasn't really clear either ...
