Following the explosions near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen, two Swedes are suspected of terrorism. "Unfortunately, the latest developments confirm that the terror threat against Denmark is serious," the police announced. They now want to carry out random checks on vehicles and travelers.

This affects the borders with Sweden and Germany. As reported, two hand grenades exploded near the Israeli embassy on Wednesday night. Three young people from Sweden were arrested. One was released, the other two have since been remanded in custody. They are accused of offenses against Danish terror laws.

Shots had previously been fired at the Israeli embassy in the Swedish capital Stockholm late on Tuesday evening. The Swedish public prosecutor's office sees a connection between the acts (see video above).

Iranian involvement?
The operational head of the Swedish intelligence service Säpo, Fredrik Hallström, said on Thursday that the target Israel and the modus operandi suggested that Iran could have been involved in the attacks on the two embassies.
