Anke Held: New impulses for acting

"My heart is in drama," says Anke Held. And that's where she is now, as Held is the new head of the Institute for Drama at Bruckner University in Linz. However, she is known from the Landestheater, where she was head of theater education for many years.

Anke Held is known in Linz and Upper Austria as the "theater pedagogue par excellence". For around 16 years, she developed new formats for children and young people at the Linz Landestheater. Now, however, a dream has come true for Held: She is head of the Institute for Drama at Bruckner University.

Exchange at eye level
At the institute, 24 students are currently preparing for the "boards that mean the world". "Teamwork is important to me," Held emphasizes, also in the direction of the students: "How do we approach things together? How can we work things out together? - This exchange at eye level is part of my style."

Film about inclusion
The small size of the institute makes "boundless dialog with other departments or institutions" possible. A good example of this is the new film "Love is in the Air" by Michael Kreihsl. It is a documentation of the collaboration between the Institute of Drama and the Kunstwerkstatt Theater Malaria.

The premiere is on Thursday, October 17, at the Moviemento in Linz. One week later (October 24th), the Institute's graduating class will present itself at the Bruckner University with samples from musicals, drama and dance; admission is free!
