Serious collision on the slip road to the highway

A 37-year-old woman wanted to join the A1 in Enns (Upper Austria) on Sunday evening, but overlooked an oncoming car. Despite emergency braking, the vehicles collided with each other and all three occupants were injured in the accident.

The 37-year-old driver from Mauthausen wanted to join the Westautobahn at the Enns Ost slip road at around 8 p.m. on Sunday and turn left to do so. According to the police, she overlooked a car from the oncoming traffic, driven by a 28-year-old woman from Lower Austria from the Amstetten district.

It was not due to alcohol
Despite emergency braking, the two vehicles crashed at the junction. All three occupants of the cars involved in the accident - the two female drivers and the 28-year-old co-driver of the Lower Austrian woman - were injured.

The Red Cross took the drivers to the hospital in Steyr and the Kepler University Hospital in Linz. Both drivers tested negative for alcohol. There was considerable material damage to the cars.
