Strong reinforcement for the Styrian police force

A ceremony for the Styrian police force: 22 women and 34 men were discharged in the sunshine in Graz. This year, the police force will receive a total of 300 new colleagues.

The Styrian police force currently comprises 4622 people, including the administration. This is an increase in officers of almost 20 percent since 2012. To ensure that this remains the case, 56 young police officers were discharged on Tuesday at Karmeliterplatz in Graz after successfully completing their basic training, 33 of them with distinction. 22 women and 34 men.

Average age is 25 years
56 police trainees were also officially sworn in on Tuesday. They began their training in September at the Graz training center, which is under the direction of Colonel Rupert Gruber. The average age of the students is just under 25. The oldest prospective police officer is currently 39, the youngest 20 years old. In total, there will be over 300 admissions to the police academy in Graz-Straßgang this year.
