Man brutally beaten by a group on the street

There was a bloody altercation at midnight on Thursday on the usually busy Mariahilfer Straße. A man (40) is said to have been brutally beaten by five unknown men. The murder weapon is said to have been a sharp object. 

A search is currently underway for five unknown men. The group is suspected of having brutally attacked a 40-year-old man on the shopping street at around midnight. The reason for this is said to have been an argument.

According to the Vienna police, the man was allegedly punched several times and then a sharp object was suddenly pulled out. The victim suffered serious injuries. 

All five suspects immediately fled the scene. An immediate manhunt was unsuccessful. The 40-year-old had to be taken to hospital immediately. The investigation is ongoing.
