Crash during harvest

Winegrower jumped out of tractor and injured himself

A 69-year-old winegrower from Gamlitz was injured during the harvest on Wednesday. He slipped with his tractor and saved himself by jumping out of the vehicle.

During the day, grape harvesting work had been carried out in the vineyard in Gamlitz. Because of the rain, the 69-year-old wanted to bring the harvest home. While driving uphill, the 69-year-old got stuck with his vineyard tractor and slid backwards down the vineyard. As he was unable to bring the tractor to a standstill, he jumped out of the tractor and was injured.

The vehicle rolled a few more meters down the hill and then came to a standstill. The farmer was taken to hospital in Wagna with injuries.
