AS Roma say Arrivederci to coach Daniele De Rossi

Short pleasure! Just eight months after Daniele Rossi signed for the Italian capital, the coach has already had to leave AS Roma. The Serie A club announced the news on its website on Wednesday morning.

"The club's decision is made in the interests of the team in order to be able to resume the desired path in a timely manner at a time when the season is still in its infancy," the statement read.

After three draws and one defeat from their first four league games, the Romans are only 16th in the table. De Rossi followed in Jose Mourinho's footsteps at the beginning of the year after the club expressed its dissatisfaction with the Portuguese. Now the 41-year-old Italian is also history at the capital club.

The Croatian Ivan Juric, who last coached Torino successfully for three years, has now taken over.

The 49-year-old Juric has signed a contract until the end of the season, which, according to the Italian media, will be extended if the team qualifies for the Champions League. This season, the team is competing in the Europa League. The Romans only drew three of their first four games and lost their only home game to date against underdogs Empoli. De Rossi played professionally for Roma from 2002 to 2019 and won the 2006 World Cup with Italy's national team.
