Olympic champion Mayer is back in the coaching business

Good news from Matthias Mayer! Eight months after the scandal in Kitzbühel, the three-time Olympic champion is back in the ski business - and "Mothl" has many more plans for the near future.

It was a tranquil "barbecue" at Mayer's house in Carinthia, to which the former speed star and his wife had invited ÖSV Secretary General Christian Scherer. The atmosphere was friendly, they got to know each other better - and talked about their future together, according to reports.

After a short break, Mayer is burning with ambition again. He wants to help Austria's ski sport, especially to pass on his experience to the next generation. As already announced in Kitzbühel, the ÖSV will continue to support him in the future.

Mayer is therefore once again looking after the youngsters at his home club Gerlitzen. Mayer is also active in the Carinthian regional association, where he supports his father Helmut, the World Championship runner-up and silver medal winner at the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary.

And "Mothl" continues to be an ambassador for the upcoming World Ski Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. He now also wants to take on this task again. In addition, Mayer's work as a coach in the ÖSV will be discussed in the near future ...
