Homeless man beaten comatose in front of Vienna City Hall

Once again there has been merciless violence between homeless people in Vienna's city center: In City Hall Park, a 30-year-old Hungarian is said to have beaten a fellow countryman (43) into unconsciousness. The victim suffered massive facial injuries - the attacker was arrested. 

According to the investigators, the bloody attack was probably preceded by an argument between the two men. The 30-year-old is said to have knocked his opponent unconscious and then continued to kick and punch him.

The 43-year-old suffered massive injuries to his face and witnesses immediately alerted the emergency services. Police officers were able to immediately apprehend and arrest the suspect. The victim was taken to hospital. "A motive is still unclear and is the subject of ongoing investigations", said police spokesman Markus Dittrich. 

Bloody attacks in the homeless milieu happen again and again. At the end of July, two men had an argument in Sigmund Freud Park in Vienna-Alsergrund in which a 53-year-old man was seriously injured. The victim was stabbed several times in the stomach.
