Murder alert in Vienna: Woman (91) was found dead in her home

A 91-year-old woman was discovered lifeless in her home in Vienna-Floridsdorf. The emergency doctor who was called could only determine that she was dead. Based on the circumstances of the discovery, the police assume that the death was caused by someone else.

The police had been called to the detached house on Wednesday morning. Relatives had wanted to visit the senior citizen, who had lived alone in a house on an allotment site. 

Relatives made a terrible discovery
When they entered the house, they were horrified to find the 91-year-old lifeless and seriously injured. The woman was already dead when the emergency services arrived. She had been beaten to death with a blunt object, as the "Krone" learned.

The police are now investigating the robbery-murder and are currently investigating which items are missing. The perpetrator or perpetrators probably entered the house via a window. 

Autopsy ordered
The Vienna State Office of Criminal Investigation has now begun an extensive investigation. An autopsy of the victim to determine the exact cause of death is to take place on Wednesday.
