Lost his way and fell to his death on an e-bike

An outing on an e-bike in St. Anton am Arlberg in Tyrol came to a sad end on Tuesday. The 63-year-old lost his way and fell to his death. Passers-by first discovered the bike and then the man. All help came too late for him.

The accident is believed to have happened at around 2 pm. The 63-year-old man was riding his e-bike on a path in Verwalltal in the area of the Konstanzer Hütte when, for unknown reasons, he went over the edge in a right-hand bend and, according to the police, fell about three meters through a bush into an area interspersed with stones.

Following cyclists found the bike and subsequently the man and made an emergency call.

According to the investigators, following cyclists first discovered the e-bike and subsequently the man. They immediately made an emergency call. 

Mountain rescuers recovered the body
Unfortunately, all help came too late for the 63-year-old. The emergency doctor from the rescue helicopter could only determine that the man had died. Mountain rescuers were called out to recover the man's body.
