Wörthersee Schifffahrt invites you to an open day

After a three-year break, Wörthersee Schifffahrt is hosting its sixth open day. On March 25, guests and boat enthusiasts will have the chance to take a look behind the scenes of the 160-year-old traditional company and enjoy a free boat trip.

The flagship DS Thalia, built in 1909, will be spruced up especially for this big day and will even give interested visitors a glimpse into the heart of the ship - the steam engine, which can even be viewed up close. To avoid a dry throat, there will also be an exclusive wine tasting on the deck of the flagship.

Of course, there is also something for those interested in nostalgia. The nostalgic ships MS Loretto and MS Lorelei will dock at the shipyard and welcome visitors on board. Hans Georg Prix, chairman of Nostalgiebahnen Kärnten, will be happy to answer any questions on site.

Dry dock demonstration
The dry dock, where the ships are stored separately from the water, can also be inspected by the curious, and a Lake Wörthersee ship will also be placed on the dock.

Bridal salon on the ship
As the MS Kärnten is not just a registered registry office, it becomes a floating bridal salon on this day. Couples interested in getting married will have the opportunity to find out about their big day on the spot.

Special guests for our little ones
We have thought of something special so that the little ones don't miss out either. To guarantee a varied children's program, Nauti, the shipping mascot, Theo the crown reading fox, and Sumsi, the speedy Raiffeisen bee, have also been invited to hand out free ice cream from the Schöller ice cream chest to the children.

Watch out flea market and bargain hunters!
There are also various treasures up for grabs for flea market lovers. Lifebuoys, lifejackets, steering wheels etc. from the shipyard's cellar will be looking forward to finding a new owner on the open day. Not only older items will be on sale - tickets for the coming season, which starts on April 9th, can also be purchased at a 25 percent discount.

Musical accompaniment will be provided!
Finally, music fans can look forward to a MEET & GREET with the band MATAKUSTIX. Matthias Ortner and co. will be available for photos and autographs and round off the day musically with their hits.
