Truck driver (25) cheated on driving and rest times

Time is money: a motto that is widespread in the haulage industry! There is often cheating and manipulation - especially with regard to driving times and rest periods. At the Kundl checkpoint, a young truck driver who did not follow the rules to the letter was pulled out of circulation.

Late on Tuesday afternoon, the 25-year-old driver and the truck he was driving on the Inntal freeway were examined more closely at the Kundl checkpoint. The young local is said to have presented the officers with falsified evidence.

Postponed rest periods
"It is suspected that the Austrian had removed the driver card from the digital tachograph during several journeys and manually rebooked the corresponding rest periods," said the investigators.

Several charges
The 25-year-old will be reported to the Innsbruck public prosecutor's office for falsifying evidence. Further charges will be filed with the competent authority for various violations.
