License plate gives away driver after hit-and-run

In Tamsweg, a driver caused parking damage and drove home without reporting the accident. Bad luck for him: he had lost a license plate. The driver was also drunk. 

The 58-year-old man from Lungau was driving in Tamsweg at two o'clock in the morning on Wednesday. While parking, he damaged another car, but then simply drove on. 

The police were able to locate the local man quickly because there was a license plate number at the scene of the accident and rang the doorbell at his home. There, the driver was also asked to take a breathalyzer test, which revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.08 per mille. He will now be charged.
