Brutal robbery outside U6 station: witnesses wanted

The Vienna police are currently searching for several unknown men who brutally robbed and injured a 44-year-old man at the Gumpendorfer Straße/ Margaretengürtel underground station at the beginning of August.

The incident took place on August 1 at around 9.45 p.m. in the outdoor area of the U6 Gumpendorfer Straße/ Margaretengürtel subway station. According to the police, there was a violent altercation between several men and the victim. The 44-year-old suffered deep cuts to his forearm in the attack.

A passer-by screamed for help
A short time later, an attentive passer-by, who was out with three children, shouted loudly for help so that the strangers left the victim and fled. She immediately gave first aid to treat the bleeding wound.

Information requested
The victim went to the hospital herself shortly afterwards and alerted the police there. So far, there is no trace of the suspects or the passer-by. The police are appealing for information.
