Flooding hit the lowlands this time

Will it never end? Thunderstorm cells also moved across Tyrol on Saturday evening, this time mainly affecting the lowlands. Once again, the fire departments were called upon.

First of all: the new thunderstorms were not as bad as on Friday evening in St. Anton and in the Innsbruck-Land district. Nevertheless, the thunderstorm cells, which slowly moved through the district of Kufsein, once again caused damage.

Several places affected
The focal points were Wörgl, Breitenbach and Angerberg. Several streets were flooded, as were underground garages and cellars.

Around 40 alerts
According to the Tyrol control center, there were around 40 alerts by around 8.30 p.m., often involving the use of pumps. In the evening, the thunderstorm cells moved further north, but the all-clear cannot be given. There is also a threat of heavy rain and thunderstorms on Sunday due to a cold front.
