ÖFB striker leads Freiburg to victory with a brace!

Freiburg's Junior Adamu has scored a brace in the first round of the German Football Cup!

The ÖFB international scored the final two goals (73rd, 94th) in Freiburg's 4-0 win in Osnabrück. RB Leipzig, with team player Nicolas Seiwald, won 4-1 at third-division side Rot-Weiß Essen despite trailing after two minutes.

The other Bundesliga clubs Mönchengladbach, Heidenheim and Union Berlin also advanced on Saturday.

New signing Kevin Stöger made his competitive debut for Gladbach. With the Austrian in the starting eleven, the "Foals" won 3:1 in Aue.

German-Austrian dual national Paul Wanner scored a goal in Heidenheim's 4-0 win in Villingen.

Querfeld struggles with Union Berlin
Union Berlin had to tremble for a long time. On Leopold Querfeld's starting debut, the Berliners struggled to a 1-0 win at Greifswalder FC.

Second division side Greuther Fürth won 2-0 at Schott Mainz, with Austrian Marlon Mustapha scoring the final goal.
