The master builder, the businessman was an entertainer, a show talent. Whether in an opera ball gown with a star or starlet in his arms or shirt-sleeved while directing cars in the garage of his shopping center: Lugner had a way with people, whether rich or poor, glamorous or a customer in a one-euro store.

A Viennese and rascal in the best sense of the word. A citizen of this city through and through. Born in Vienna, he lived and enjoyed his career here. As an entrepreneur and socialite, in the spotlight or behind the hedge of his Döbling villa. Married several times, his cameras were almost always with him. Some of his "little animals" became famous TV faces themselves.

Now the original has passed away. He was granted 91 years of rich life experience. We will miss Richard Luger. We are making him Wiener of the Week. A posthumous tribute to his life's work. He will always remain part of the city's history - unforgotten.
